What are the Topics?
Pastor Charmian
Gleeson
Covenant of Marriage
This topic is aimed at laying a Godly foundation for marriage. We look at examples of covenants in the Bible and how this pattern is the basis for Christian marriage.
Communication
From the moment a couple feel a spark of interest in one another, they start to communicate, yet communication can begin to break down in many marriages. In this session we examine reasons for communication breakdown and differing styles of communication with practical steps to rebuild the communication between a husband and wife.
The Desirable Husband and Wife
In this session we look at the five most desirable traits a woman is looking for in a husband and the five most desirable traits a man is looking for in a wife. Based on observations of a Christian counselor, this can help couples understand each other’s needs in their relationship.
Children
For most couples having children is an expected outcome from their marriage. In this session we look at parenting and the various stages of child development with practical tips on raising well-balanced, confident children.
Mid-Life
Mid-life can be a time of re-evaluation of how life has been going and whether or not it has measured up to the expectations we may have placed upon ourselves. This can be the stage of life when the stresses of living can reach all-time highs causing some people to act irrationally. Relax, there is a way through this sometimes confusing time.
Romance
What exactly does it mean to be romantic? In this session we look at romance in our marriages and get some pointers from the most romantic of books – The Song of Solomon.
Sex
In this session we discuss our most intimate moments as husband and wife and the importance of this in marriage. Being Biblically based, this session will help couples to enhance this area of their marriage without causing anyone embarrassment.
Love Languages
Based on Gary Chapman’s book “The Five Love Languages” we do an overview of these areas and try to help couples discover ways both they and their spouse like to receive love and how to express love to their spouse in a way that will be meaningful to them.
Marriage and Ministry
This session is relevant to pastors and their wives and those involved heavily in ministry. Some practical advice from a couple who have been involved in full-time ministry for over twenty years.
Managing Finance
The Bible has a lot to say about how we manage our money. In this session we look at having faith and wisdom for our finances.
Forgiveness
Everyone who lives will experience hurts and disappointments. How we handle these are pivotal in our Christian walk and can deeply affect our marriage. In this session we look at not only the necessity for forgiveness but practical ways of letting go of the pain.

What options are available for those hosting a bless seminar?
Saturday Seminar
Six topics are covered from 10.00 am to 3.15 pm with a morning coffee break, lunch and afternoon coffee break. The topics range from 30 to 40 minutes in length.
Churches usually add a little extra to our cost to cover a light lunch. So far this has been our most popular time slot.
Mid-Week Seminar - Two nights in the same week
This is a good option when cell groups may not be operating or as a special alternative to the weekly cell groups. Three topics can be covered each night. (7.20 pm - 9.00 pm)
Mid-Week Seminar - one night each week over 2 or 3 weeks
This has proved very popular with a number of churches if we are in the same area and the driving distance is reasonable.
Friday Night and Saturday Morning
One church did the seminar this way and it was a great success. We finished about 1.00 pm
Our aim in coming to your church is to be a blessing. We have pastored for 20 years and understand the needs of a church.

How many people should attend a bless seminar?
For a good dynamic a seminar needs at least 15 couples. If you have trouble getting enough attendees from your church, consider inviting one or two other local churches to be part of the seminar. We have done a few seminars in this way and they have been a great success.
